American History
American History traces the growth of America from American Industrialization to the modern era. To this end, the course devotes time to the critical evaluation of primary and secondary sources, analysis of historiography, oral presentations, short essays, and student driven research. The course of study includes vocabulary, essay, and extemporaneous projects as well as a variety of assignments and classroom activities, lectures, Socratic seminars, assorted programmed materials, and an emphasis on technological skills. Evaluation is based on both formative and summative assessments, as well as completion of assignments and classroom participation.
